March 6, 2024 - From 75cl, opened 5 hours in ABC tasting room, Santa Barbara. Big expressive oaked Chard scent with pineapple, papaya and lots more; big-bodied entry, still a little squeaky-textured, with an attractive hint of passion fruit; rich but not buttery mid-palate; finish quite long. Best 2026 onwards? $60 cellar door. 90P+

November 23, 2023 - Thanksgiving Wimps 2023 - Alfred Stieglitz Table (La Trompette): hmmm - wondered if this was slightly corked, and a look at my previous note suggests it was. A bit muted on the nose, quieter than the others of this flight and somehow lacking in joy.

September 1, 2023 - Tasted in SB Sept 2023. Dominated by oak, good for the style but not what we usually go for. Open with a lobster.

August 2, 2023 - Pale gold colour. Medium (+) and developing nose with ripe yellow apples, ripe lemon, charred wood, butter, roasted walnuts, toast and cinnamon. Medium (+) taste of tripe yellow apples, peach, apricot, ripe lemon, charred wood, butter, cinnamon, vanilla and toast. Long and dry finish. Medium (+) acidity. Medium body. A very good Californian Chardonnay from the famous vineyard Sanford & Benedict. Needed half an hour to open. Drink now or over the next couple of years. Goes well with cheeses, fish or shellfish.

July 28, 2023 - This is a fantastic wine, rich but elegant, very Meursault. Keep evolving in the glass. Brillantly integrated oak, medium acidity, long and deep aftertaste. Probably my best experience with California Chardonnay. And amazing qpr of course.
