  June 20, 2022 - Value $15 Lodi, Calif., 2019 Predator Old Vine Zinfandel, $15. Light mid-ruby, ruby edges, some viscosity (14.5 alc.); red fruit, pomegranate, sweet berry, bramble nose; light-mid acids; medium tannins; mid fruit; easy-drinking round fruity finish. 15 UC Davis scale, 88 other scales.

  March 14, 2022 - I like the wine by itself, nice taste of leather and good tannins. I had it with a ribeye steak and it just did not go as well as I thought it should with a ribeye. Also had dessert, chocolate and salted caramel, and it was good but not as good as I Was expecting it to be. We need to find the right food combination for this. For the price still a lovely wine.

  December 12, 2021 - Day 1: Medium red. Let breathe for an hour or so. Reasonably soft and smooth,but with an odd flavor note. I want to say that it is in the direction of, but not nearly that severe, Vicks VapoRub, so not a great thing. Day 2: that note seems to be essentially gone and the good qualities remain. So, wonder if it would be good if open, breathe for 2 hours, cork, and drink next day.
