August 1, 2021 - Light ruby with medium optical density and very high specular reflectivity. Aromas of Cherry, raspberries, roses, and minerals with a lightness to it that comes across with medium intensity and a simple but balanced and delicious profile.

On the palate, medium light in body with fresh acidity and ripe, lithe tannins for a just short of sappy texture. Still, has some richness, just not super-concentrated. Flavours of black cherry and raspberry on the attack, with nice intensity. Simple fruit-forward entry. The midpalate still shows the fruit, but adds some light spices and earthy tones. Some floral notes come on in the final transition to a decent length of warm mixed berries and light toast. Overall, balanced very well and decent intensity with not much complexity.

This is a really lovely wine. All the classic notes in PN, with a great approach taken. Honest and transparent, this shows the vineyard. Perhaps a touch thin if anything, but that seems to be made up for in the elegant and more subtle evolution found here. Really does just sing classic NZ PN, and a really nice value bottle! Would think this is a drink now sort of bottle
