October 27, 2023 - Two hour decant. Very very deep magenta color. Dark chocolate, blackberry, cassis, powdered sugar beignet, anise, pressed violets, and apple cider. Dry palate, with nice, center of the tongue acidity. Firm tannins on the longish finish.

October 13, 2023 - Out to dinner with The Cyclist and IAMANDYC. Drank this alongside the Covert cab franc. I thought both were similar in weight and tone. I gave this an hour in the decanter, then back into the bottle, so maybe open for about 90 minutes before first pour. Deep magenta color, bright blue fruits and violets on the nose. Rich, lush blueberry fruits, finishing with subtle oak, vanilla and cedar, which seems to be the signature style of Trespass. Dry palate, tightly integrated tannins. Nicely balanced.

November 1, 2022 - PnP with a shake decant. A little reticent at first but improved with 30 min of air.

I could not keep my nose out of the glass — fresh evergreen and pine forest, baking spices, intense perfume.

Unfortunately the palate was subdued - a bit of candied dark fruit and that was about it.

    Nose was a 94, palate was a 90.

Not much development over 2 hr of drinking. Likely user error for lack of a proper decant or more aging.

January 6, 2022 - Coravined. Deep dark magenta color. Blueberry, crème brûlée, and subtle roasted coffee on the nose. Very smooth, very dry palate, with vibrant acidity. Firm, full tannins on the longish finish.

My score is based somewhat on potential, as this is not yet in it’s drinking window. Fun tasting with Donny the owner at Venge Vineyards.

December 4, 2021 - 2.5 hour decant. Syrupy grip on the stems, the nose is dominated by oak and vanilla. More balanced on the palate, there’s young tannins and bright fruit.

As noted, this is a great expression of the varietal that will clearly benefit from another year or three of age. 92 today but this will add 2+ points in time.
