December 5, 2023 - Was hesitant to pop this initially but wanted a simple CCR to accompany our home-cooked Italian meal of rustic tomato based pasta & Chicken Parmigiana. Took about an hour to slowly open up. Nose: fleshy & juicy red fruit, elongated blue fruit, chocolate milk, fresh tobacco, balsamic, clove & delicious oak. Palate: albeit young, it has opulent & chocolate-y tannins. Slight bitterness like biting into an high end dark chocolate. Edgy acidity which still needs time but layered & complex finish. Awesome QPR!

Appearance wise, wine looks older than I would expect. Out of bottle the wine drinks like a classic CCR. After decanting for 2-3 hours, it drinks like a SuperTuscan or a Bolgheri rosso.
Nose of cedar, black cherry, and plums. Nice finish, acidity and balanced tannins with a sweet finish of cedar, cherry, red fruits, and burnt sugar/soil.
