May 11, 2014 - Definitely at the end of its life, but still enjoyable

June 10, 2010 - I have to agree with Vine, this is really showing well right now. Didn't know what to expect. But what I got was a medium bodied red showing great red fruited aromatics. The palate was soft, but still balanced, and it's just delicious right now. I think I always sell L'Ecole short for some reason. I would imagine that this wine is at its peak right now.

April 18, 2010 - Popped and poured. Medium-plus garnet, touch of rust. Initially quite funky on the nose but quickly opens to reveal nicely developed aromas of plummy dark fruits, forest floor, barbecue smoke, cedar shavings, and a hint of anise. Medium-plus body. On the palate, the fruit has mellowed yet has great freshness, with flavors of dark berries, currant, fresh herbs, tar, and cedar. Tannins are smooth and refined on the persistent finish. This is drinking beautifully right now but should certainly hold for a few more years.

August 24, 2008 - The Merlot Dinner a/k/a Richard's Last Supper (The Acorn, Nashville, TN): A very big merlot, with little complexity, but not at all unbalanced and nice, if simple. My 5th in the flight.

March 17, 2007 - While I'm not much of a Merlot drinker, I was pleasantly surprised with this effort. It is certainly ready to drink now. I served this to some family members and was a big hit. I sensed marion and blackberries in both the nose and the palatte.
