February 11, 2024 - Day 1: clear blackish deep garnet color. Nose: blackberry, black raspberry, hibiscus, pencil lead, black pepper, and wet wool/dog. The mouth confirms nose, very tart and acidic, with medium-low sandy tannins, and interestingly the acidity is drawing upward curve like a Chenin Blanc (one of the most acidic reds I have ever had, among acidic barbera and Barranco Oscuro), balanced by grated-apple-like rich aftertaste which also reminds of Chenin Blanc. I believe this wine is not meant for long cellaring, but it’s staying fresh and everything got bolder now compared to my previous consumption 2 years ago. 90-91.

January 22, 2022 - Day 1 - Refreshing medium body with excellent depth of aroma - concentrated fresh blackberry, with bundle of high toned red and purple flowers. Just a hint of natural wine funk adding complexity. Medium+ amount of lively acidity, and medium- amount of fine powdery tannin. Medium long finish, with intensifying richness of aroma that stick to back of nose. 90

Day 2 - shutting down. Green citrus skin and black pepper. Sharp acidity dominates the palate. 88-89.

Day 3 - back in shape. Regained suppleness. Complex aroma consisting of dark cherry, leather, and dry dusty underbush. Although it is an inexpensive wine, I can see this wine works well with large burgundy grand crus glass. 90.

December 24, 2020 - Med purple. Dill, anise, wet clay, leather, ripe red plum. Med acidity and light, integrated tannin. Incredibly expressive on nose; somewhat more reserved on the palate - a reflection of the 12.5% alcohol. Really lovely wine. Paired with braised chicken thighs with Swiss chard and carrots.
