January 13, 2024 - Northern Rhone night: This was a perplexing one - smelled and tasted like a new-school, natty Grenache like Comando G. Sweet and jammy; no northern Rhone character here at all.

July 22, 2023 - Over a year since my last bottle and essentially identical results. There is some egg-like reduction on opening and it really really needs air. That facet improved but was still present from the bottle on day two. When it finally blows off at that point, you have this really delicate expression of Cote rotie, with cherry blossom, cranberry fruit, and subtle hints of peppercorn and olive. So, pretty elegant but not a great value or particularly good vintage for Benetiere.

March 5, 2023 - A little reduction. Pretty. Perhaps less savory/gamey than I’d expect for a Cote Rotie. In fact, this even reminded me a bit of a Burgundy (Vosne Romanee) at times. Berries, floral notes. Drinks well now (not overly structured) and should age over medium term. Very nice.

May 22, 2022 - This was especially reduced on opening. Perhaps a touch bretty, too. However, with air, it blossomed into a rather elegant wine.

Light to medium bodied, transparent with raspberry, cherry fruit, and a little white pepper. I would have guessed a cool vintage grenache, probably. Quite a stony, mineral finish with fresh acidity. I think that this will develop and further soften into a really silky Cote Rotie, might even be an early maturer; but for goodness sake, decant it to let that sulfur blow off. No sediment in my bottle.
