Community Tasting Notes 5

February 5, 2024 - Lemon, lime zest prime aromas, notes of pineapple and peach. Smoky, honeysuckle notes with spices and flinty essence- mineral and stone.
Great balance, long aftertaste. This is great now but will taste better in 3+ years; Diam30 cork.

November 18, 2023 - At Grand'Vigne restaurant, Les Sources de Caudalie (Smith Haute Lafitte).

Great energy but clearly super young, the Montille CC spits out green lime notes with lemon juice and limestone. I would have pegged this as a P-M with more volume. However, there is more acid than weight right now. Best to hold for a while. Sealed with DIAM 30, so expect this to evolve at a glacial pace. Provides zing and great energy right now, but not as much interest as its Perrieres sibling from Montille. 93+ points for now.

February 25, 2023 - Very strong lemon notes with high acidity. A bit thin into the mid palate. Could have been tricked into thinking this was a young chablis 1er. I’d suggest not opening until 2025 to let this come into better balance and hopefully gain some weight.

January 1, 2023 - Nice weight, crisp, with good energy and acidity.

October 27, 2022 - this was right in the wheelhouse for me, but just not enough oomph... it was light on its feet, great acidity, citrus on the fruit side, minerality lurking in the background... the body was simply medium's, and it may have been a little closed but didn't feel like it (or based on it being '19 I wouldn't expect for it to have shut down)... really nice but not worth (at least based on this drinking) the $200 plus price tag... love Montille and love Corton Charlie but this isn't a rebuy for me
