Community Tasting Notes 10

June 1, 2019 - Quite amazed, how well this wine stood the test of time. Still honey and good acidity. Similar to last note and reminded of a Marsanne based white from the Rhone

February 6, 2016 - Found on close out and bought it because I love this producers rose. PNP. Cork perfect. Unlike its 08 and 09 brethren this one is showing its age. Color gold. Nose has nuts and butterscotch. Swishing shows its acid but the nuts and butterscotch are prominent and this has more oak flavors on the finish. Sipping is more of the same. If you enjoy oxidative style Spanish portuguese whites then time to drink, but if not time to gift to someone who does :)

January 10, 2010 - Golden colour. Nice nose of honey, banana and some vanilla (must be the american oak). On the palate good acidity but also creamy. Overall quite modern but not bad. Matched well with grilled potatoes, cod and salsa verde (a Jamie Oliver recipie).

September 17, 2006 - A serious wine good body/structure, clean fresh with flavours of melon and an underlying oakyness. Blend os Antão Vaz / Roupeiro / Arinto made by a large progressive winery. £18.50 on restaurant wine list, £12 to take away. The Butchers Arms - hidden in the English countrysided- is owned by a Portuguese family who import Portuguese wines and although their list (available on their site at http://www.thebutchersarms.com ) has first growths, Ch d'Yquem and more, we always go for the Portuguese wines. :)

May 29, 2006 - This reserve is quite concentrated and a little heavy on the oak, but overall it offers a great value at it´s price.
