April 17, 2024 - I'm not so experienced with Super Tuscans but this one has led me to want to investigate. While the age is minimal, I found it to be very approachable with just enough backbone to support the main dish, grilled lamb chops with a hint of garlic. For a $50 bottle, I found it to be worthwhile.

October 16, 2022 - I like this wine, but it gave me massive reflux. I suspect the problem is the Pugnitello (35%).

September 4, 2022 - Probably just needs a lot more air, but: Ripe red cherry, red and black plum, vanilla, toast, charred cedar, dried orange peel, black tea, tobacco, and dusty trail. A combination of old and new-world styles (65%/35%). High tannin, chewy, fine-grained sand. Medium-plus to high acidity. Despite the components, the mouthfeel as a medium weight. Overall the wine hasn’t integrated all of its components yet (which it may do with more air and/or age), and is pricey for its current level of enjoyment.

August 11, 2022 - Wine suggested by waiter in Florence. It was very strong and tannic at dinner, so we corked it back up and took it to the Hotel and left it open overnight.

On day 2 it smelled of earth, thyme and wet rose petals. The taste profile was high toned with sour cherry, cranberry and raspberry with a layer of cream and some orange pith. Tannins are still drying.

This needs time, but has great potential. Hard to judge exactly how it will age but seems like 5-10 years would be ideal. I like it alot and love the idea of supporting the return of a lost fighting grape - pugnitello.
