September 4, 2023 - This one has fleshed out since my initial bottle. Nice oak notes with chaparral savory notes, some minerality and pleasant fruit notes. Some stone fruit and nice smoked butterscotch. Smooth and delightful. Great on a very hot Chicagoland day!

December 8, 2021 - I have had an affinity for the Sierra Mar vineyard and how ROAR has continually improved the results coming from this vineyard. This one was a bit reticent and restrained out of the gate. Some evident minerality as well. This did not present the brightness or the touch of ripeness the prior vintage offered. Solid but not as great as I was hoping for. I do not think it was flawed as it did round out a bit with time in the glass.

August 16, 2021 - This bottle was just fine…no hint of TCA…
Excellent CA Chardonnay that stays away from the oaky buttery overkill so many veer towards…not to say this Burgundian in style because it definitely isn’t… but it is a well balanced wine with good fruit flavors,
Understated oak, touch smoky, touch minerality and acidity… -

May 30, 2021 - We liked it a lot with baked brie and apple sandwiches for lunch. Strong flavors, very California. Have to say we like Beringer Reserve and Lewis more in this price range, but the Roar is a winner.
