October 27, 2023 - (Mostly) 1998, 2005, 2012 Northern Rhône (Chicago, IL): Served double blind. Clearly syrah with its black pepper aromatics, but the fruit is too forward and jammy, and I thought it was some sort of Californian thing with the juiciness so prominent. On the reveal of a $13 bottle, I have to say I'm really impressed at the quality of this.

May 17, 2023 - clean ruby, crimson hue. bright and clean palate, fruity, dry herbals, moderate spices, some earthy notes. medium body, fresh acidity, grainy tannins, soft and medium light. A very good food wine, clean and friendly, still very young.

April 23, 2023 - PnP. Haven't had one of these in ages, but picked one up at $12 to round out a case buy. Dark berries, garrigue and herbs, some pepper and spice. Body is a bit light, medium acid, some tannins in the finish. It smells and tastes like proper CdR, but it is a bit one dimensional. But for $12 before case discount, it's a good, food friendly wine.

February 22, 2023 - Paleish Ruby. Rustic and a little bit dirty. Lower flavor intensity and short finish. Some unripe fruits among the red berry profile. Acceptable but not terribly pleasant.
