April 29, 2024 - First as an aside this is apparently my 1,000 TN in CT. I did not purposefully pick this bottle for the milestone, but perhaps it is fitting since Ridge is my largest holding and this is pretty prototypical of my drinking profile (not over the top, food friendly, hopefully good QPRs). I made a resolution a few years ago to post TNs since I get a lot of benefit from all the other ones out there on CT (especially when I am on the fence about a purchase and/or when to open a bottle). Anyways, this was solid and showed more of a fruit profile, esp cherry, plus a slightly funky leathery/earth note (can’t quite place it). I would drink this now. (OK admittedly not a particularly poetic note for #1,000! Guess I have time to better prepare for #2,000 in a few years )

September 5, 2023 - W chicken tacos. Very fresh dish, good combo with the wine. Super elegant merlot. Good fruit body and length. Very well made and interesting. No sharp edges, good earthy flavors. Good example of top merlot.

September 4, 2023 - Should hold off for a few more years. Big tannin, no complexity.

April 28, 2023 - Nice wine, young, lots of structure. Great acidity, grippy tannin. White pepper and bell pepper, some eucalyptus and dark berry fruit. Drinking well for such a young wine.

December 31, 2022 - Round and supple, but with enough dusty tannins and acid to entice.
