January 10, 2020 - Clearly not the same quality as the one I had last year - still not giving you a lot on the nose - but I just not get the same experience as the last bottle - more back to my first bottle which I had in 2015 - the wine is not giving a lot and is in many ways closed again. Medium tannins and acidity - but this time clearly lacking the balance - you do get the cherries and also some red plums - some vanilla - not a long aftertaste - have to go down to 91.

October 19, 2019 - Clearly not closed any more - apart from cherries you do not get a lot in the nose - but on the palette it is a total different story. In the mouth you get perfectly integrated tannins - medium- - you get a lot of fruit cherries and blackberries - you also get a nice subdued hint of vanilla - and everything is so perfectly integrated - this has really turned in to a very nice wine. - it is not a big year but this is a great wine - and big 93 is well deserved. I can only say a lot has happened since I had the last bottle in 2015.

May 26, 2016 - The 2002 was a fairly backwards and decried vintage but none of that was present in this bottle. Perhaps a bit dense in style compared to other vintages from this estate, the tannins had integrated perfectly and what remained was a rich, vibrant bottle of Sangiovese fruit. Thoroughly enjoyable. (Note: Bottle was a gift from estate in Montalcino in 2015)

January 16, 2016 - Thinking that 2002 was an extremely hot summer throughout Europe that tested all wine makers. This was still supple with good tannins.

December 17, 2015 - Monthly Tasting Group LTB 2015-09; Classical Italian wines (By HV and FB): Cherries, dark berries, vanilla, beautiful oak and some rustic/barnyard impressions in the bouquet. On the palate ripe red and dark berries, earth, herbs and spices, laurel, some sweetness, firm acidity and slightly drying tannin. Some sweetness in the finish. The wine has a short aftertaste, but is nevertheless a pleasure to drink. Ready now.
