July 14, 2012 - Past its prime. Very light on the nose. Fruit had faded on the palate.

January 8, 2012 - Drank unfairly in the midst of a New Year's day party with 25 different wines going. Majority enjoyed it, except for my elitist French pigs. Soft and balanced but beginning to fade

January 1, 2012 - drink immediately after decanting, no time in decanter needed - wonderful, traditional CA meritage aromas of cedar, leather, hint of violet; dark fruit, cedar, hint of sweetness on finish, moderate length finish - very good wine and remained constant for first 2 hours in decanter, fruit faded and flavors became less distinguishable over hours 3 and 4

June 11, 2011 - Wine has held up well. Fruit of black cherry still present, with classic aged undertones of earthiness. Integrated tannins. A nice wine, but not special. Paid $35 for it in 2001, though, and would have hoped for more at that price-point.

October 11, 2010 - NobleRottersSydney - California (mostly) (Alio's, Surry Hills): [13.5%, cork] {Glenn} A bordeaux blend. Aged nose. Cabernet-ish, but of the weedy kind. The palate is all sinews and tendons without much flesh. Pity, because it seems like a well-built wine using inferior components. But Napa in 1998 has this reputation, no perhaps it’s no surprise. There’s a lot of air around the bones of this wine, so you are kind of aware of everything missing while you taste, though of itself it’s not too bad a wine. Objectively though, past its best. Pity.
