August 25, 2021 - Rich garnett in color. Slight receding of color at the edges.
Aroma is filled with earthy notes Some leather and a whiff of chocolate. As it opens black cherry makes itself known
Blackberry and again black cherry. Almost meaty. Deep notes of oak with a nice bitter finish. (nice as in positive)
Finish returns to earthy notes and some black pepper. -

July 31, 2011 (link)(NV Cain Cuvée) 71% 2007, 29% 2006; 46% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, 9% Petit Verdot. The lightest and most approachable of the three Cain wines, this two-vintage blend shows forward aromas of plum, black cherry, and crème de cassis, along with dried herbs, tobacco, and Indian spices. Sweet red fruits with darker undertones emerge on the palate. A plush texture and medium weight are backed by mild, dusty tannins and refreshed by vibrant acidity.
