April 21, 2024 - Popped and poured, and once again displaying the purity, clarity and class of my last bottle. What a steal this was!

April 19, 2024 - Lots of saline and sauv blanc character, but rounded with good depth. Lychee, white peach and pineapple on the nose, finishes with citrus and cut grass. This held up extremely well over several days under vacuum seal in the fridge, showing slight riper peach notes on the nose on the final glass. Good potential for future development and excellent QPR.

April 10, 2024 - The 2020 iteration of Château Couhins Blanc is a straw-colored wine comprised of 93% Sauvignon Blanc and 7% its clonal mutation, Sauvignon Gris. Fermented in a combination of used French oak and stainless steel tanks, it was then aged for nine months on its lees in neutral French oak barrels. What has resulted is an extremely complex and aromatic white that flaunts a bouquet of clementines, white peaches, kiwi, honeysuckle, ginger, coriander and wet stones. Medium-bodied, vibrantly acidic, seamlessly alcoholic (14%) and with a touch of wood, it delivers flavors mirroring the nose, gaining traction on the mid-palate. Concluding with a lengthy, saline-infused finish, this is a classic-quality white Bordeaux that will provide pleasure for another decade or longer. Popped, poured and serially tasted over three hours, this was ready for prime time right from the get-go. Enclosed with a Diam 10 cork. Drink now-2034.

March 9, 2024 - This really strikes me as the essence of Sauvignon Blanc, with a purity that I don’t often see. It has spicy elements that remind me of Gewurztraminer and Riesling, but still stays true to its roots (no pun intended). Has an excellent marine/mineral character that really delivers, and bracing acidity. I’m glad I stocked up on this. 5-13-17-9: 94/100.
