October 19, 2023 - Nose: Fruity with an intense ripe blackberry. Palate: Oak spice initially followed by a wave of ripe cassis and blackberry that all mingle together; milk chocolate covered cranberries; grainy, almost angular tannins; faint woodsmoke; warming dark oak bitterness that is really nice. Overall, quite primary, which is to be expected from such a young wine, but one that is very well made.

March 21, 2023 - Licorice, black cherries, blackberries, cocoa, crushed rocks and violets pop in the nose. On the palate, the wine is silky, plush and creamy, with a wealth of lusciously-textured black and red fruits and a touch of spicy chocolate that holds with you from the mid-palate, all the way through to the finish. Drink from 2025-2050.

January 25, 2023 - At the UDG Chicago. Nice fragrance, mainly fruit, both fruit and oak on the palate, moderate finish over 5 seconds. Best aspect of the wine is a elegant silky structure that really adds to your enjoyment and helps it stand out among many others tasted this evening.

January 23, 2023 - Tasted at the UGC at the Drake Hotel in Chicago. There were certainly lot of oak and ripe tannins here, but then there was also clearly a lot of wine here as well. It could definitely handle it. Showing black over red fruits, this was a powerful but balanced brute that reminded me of the Lynch-Bages, which I had already tasted. And I have to say, this was the better of the two—at this stage anyway. It’s one-third the price, too. 13.5% ABV. (great; distinguished/****)

Im Gaumen rund, weich, zugänglich, bereits gut balanciert, mit ausgeprägten Gerbstoffen, einer feinen Säure und einer reifen Frucht. Lang im Abgang, würzige und florale Aromen im Retrofinale.
