November 22, 2023 - This has dropped a point or compared to how they were drinking 2 ears ago upon release. Still a very enjoyable wine for the money.

October 30, 2023 - Checking on this given another shot at '21. This is still in a fantastic place. Similar notes but gaining a bit more complexity with more bottle time. Drink or hold another 10+ year. Continues to be a great QPR even though I've passed on almost all napa '21 offerings this year. Mostly just prioritizing diversifying my cellar. 93+

August 7, 2023 - Fruit forward, nice initially up front, but lacking the usual depth that I have experienced with past vintages.

April 25, 2023 - Decided to revisit after a recent positive review for the 2019 Scarlett cab - I believe the Scarlet/McGah fruit is likely holding back this wine. Similar thoughts as last Fall - this wine still isn’t ready on day one. A really nice mineral/graphite component with this vintage but still fairly tart and a little light even after a couple hour decant. However, quite an improvement on day three. I plan on laying the remaining bottles down for a year. 93 points on day three. 100% cab.

December 3, 2022 - Started off fairly tight, and opened up over the evening. This could benefit from a few hours in a decanter at this stage. More structured and less fruit forward than previous vintages (although I haven’t opened a 2018 yet). Dark purple color, black cherry, black current, and blackberry. Less prominent baking spices. Smooth mid palate. Good now, but I think this is going to get better with some age.

This is good but prominent oak - wait a year until the next one.
