October 11, 2023 - Pierre Damoy Chambertin Clos De Beze 2001
At the Acker Wine Dinner SG Oct 2023. Nose was quite intense, some black fruit, rich dried fruit, hints of soy sauce. Palate was rich black fruit, well balanced, some earth, some nut flavours, elegant. 93/100

May 21, 2022 - This wine delivered a very convincing performance with an highly complex and ever changing aroma profile . The structure is fine but misses a touch of lightness, creaminess and the wine misses just a bit brighter fruit, which would make this even better. It has the fruit to improve further in the cellar but it‘s already great to drink today. 95+

TN: Constantly developing, deep and intriguing bouquet and palate displaying meaty, smokey, earth and truffle notes around a dark red fruit core with more minerality and fresh blue fruit taking over with time. Additional notes of spices, stems, cola and some faint hints of dark chocolate, at times streaks of burnt sugar and herbs complement the very complex and very well delineated, intellectually and hedonistically appealing picture. The wine has a a good structural frame with lots of tension and freshness, round tannins but a rather masculine Pinot feel, high density, and a touch of creaminess only. Overall, this is quite balanced but misses a slight touch of lightness and sweetness. The finish shows medium length and is almost as layered as the palate.

Decanting: PnP, followed over two hours. Good from the go, didn‘t need much air. In terms of openness and softness little change over time. No extensive decanting needed nor advised.

December 21, 2017 - Dark meaty black cherry fruits with a nice sweet edge. Good density and purity, packs some power and depth.

December 21, 2017 - Small Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Dinner (S.K.Y. Restaurant - Chicago IL): Black cherry, plum and roasted meat with very good concentration and layers of flavors. Powerful and rich, with very good balance. Much like the last bottle from approximately 5 years ago.

March 7, 2015 - Opened 2.5 hours before serving, 1.5 hours of which was in a decanter. Salty smoked meat and blueberries on the nose. Chunky, spicy blue fruit on the palate. 30+ second finish. Nice.
