January 25, 2024 - Nose: a bit muted. Black cherries, vanilla, mild dirty sock aroma that blew off in short order.
Palate: concentrated fruit flavors, plums and black cherry. Big black pepper note, mushrooms, olives, and vanilla. Medium+ and peppery finish, medium-, smooth tannin, nice medium acidity, medium+ body. The wine tastes a bit jammy, as if the fruit was slightly overripe. -

March 15, 2022 - Wanted to try a Sicilian wine tonight. This Nero d'Avola I snatched up on Vivino fit the bill. Medium-deep ruby color. Black cherry, plum, black olive, menthol, and tobacco on the nose. Nice smooth tannins, medium acidity, and fairly balanced. Black fruits, pepper, black olives. Good but simple.

February 1, 2022 - I was gifted a bottle of Morgante recently, and I drank it over a three night period. The Morgante is an easy drinking wine that exhibits little tannin, and moderate fruit. It is a bit one dimensional, but otherwise a very nice wine.
