The nose is fairly focused, yielding a blend of citrus and tropical fruits (i.e., pineapple, grapefruit, guava, and lemon) melded with smoky mineral-laced notes on the nose. In the mouth, it is immediately ready to go, with only the slightest buttery notes delivered in a lush and expansive package of citrus fruits and minerals. The oak is well integrated and barely noticeable, while being wonderfully balanced, with a long, delicious, and fruit-driven finish. The QPR doesn't get much better, and currently drinking super well!

  July 9, 2023 - Quick decant. Nose of honeyed fruit and beeswax. Plush, viscous poached pear palate with lemon custard, white floral notes, and exotic spice. A note of bitterness leads the finish into preserved lemon, honeycomb, dried ginger, and cinnamon notes. Evolved quickly in the glass.

  November 5, 2022 - I think this needs another year or two in the bottle to soften the oaky/prickly edges. Definitely better now with food - bordering on full bodied, with medium yellow color. Even after two days in the fridge, it hasn’t softened as much as I’d have expected.
