April 3, 2005 - I should never have opened this yet! A tannic monster! On the nose, all barnyard and earth. Decanted about 2 hours and sampled over the next 3 hours. It never really changed that much and I'm not sure the fruit will ever show through the tannin.
Re-bottled (375ml) what was left and put it in the cellar. Finished this last night, no real change to speak of!
I'll give it an 86 now, if the tannin resolves and there is some fruit there, it could go up 2+ points. -

October 3, 2004 - Spicy, barnyardy nose with a good dollop of black jammy fruit (prunes mainly). Lots of fruit, pepper and coffee on the palate. Alcohol already well integrated. Begins to become accessible. Very good.
