April 1, 2024 - Betz keeps getting better though we will miss a 2020 vintage due to the fires. Stock up on the 19 as the nose has a slight sweet characteristics, but more serious nuances of chocolate and spice. That leads to a soft mouth feel of nicely integrated tannins through out the palate. The structure provide a complex grippy finish. Young but assertive that is so good now, but deserves more time perhaps 2-3 years. PNP and saved half for the home where i gassed the bottle and that tasting is what i based my review upon.

March 5, 2024 - Outstandingly fruit character on the nose, along with everything else - but its really just the purity of the fruit that captures you. Palate has good tension and focus throughout, just a touch closed up right now, but everything is there for a long ride. "Dance of structure and minerality".

March 6, 2022 - Tasted at Woodinville winery. Paired with spinach parmesan pastry.
51% merlot
21% Cabernet Sauvignon
28% petit verdot
This is an interesting right bank merlot dominant blend. But relatively high petit verdot contributing to the fruit. Yields were low this year, but perhaps the petit verdot did well?
Ruby red, lovely vibrant color.
Nose of intense ripe blackberries, with a touch of menthol.
Front kind of wound up right now, black and blue fruit, especially huckleberry, nice light sweetness.
As the wine moves to the back, feel some acidity, some alcohol. More blackberry comes through, then a little oak. Lingering at the back of the palette a good 30 seconds +.
91 but a lot of potential to improve.2 people found this helpful Comment
