Community Tasting Notes 2

December 26, 2007 - Deep ruby color, slightly purple at the rim. Full tones of cherry, raspberry and rozes with hints of toast and tobacco. Full bodied with lots of fruit and some oaky tones. Chewy tanins, a tad edgy perhaps. Medium finish.
Fruity chilean interpretation of this classic Italian variety. Full bodied and loads of fruit, but slightly unbalanced. I'm going to stow a bottle away to see how it will show in 5-10 years time. If you like an Aussie syrah, this might be something for you....

October 26, 2007 - Red color with a clear purple hue. Nice aromas of olives, cherries, roses, some herbs and olive oil. Tastes of sour cherries that gain intensity over the midpalate where it is joined by tobaco. Good structure and nice, spicy aftertaste with lots of tannins and heat. The balance is ok, but the style is definitely modern/new world.
