Community Tasting Notes 38

  • KingsleyZissou Likes this wine: 90 points

February 1, 2024 - Based on prior user tasting notes, thought this had a chance to be horrid. Pleasantly surprised by the positive QPR.

Blend of classic amarone/Veneto varietals with Corvina Classico, rondinella and the addition of some Sangiovese.

The nose shows rustic mix of underripe, bitter cherry, raspberry, mint, stewed tomato and some mild Brett funk, resulting in an interesting suite of secondary aromas, invoking underbrush, thyme and a tinge of game.

The palate is comprised of rich moderate tannin and moderate-plus acidity.

Honestly quite nice, especially as pairing with a meal.

November 20, 2023 - Muted fruitiness, dark cherry dominant. Moderate acid, mild tannin, very pleasant with food or alone.

November 12, 2023 - Definitely in its prime. A little flat on first pour, but then really began to shine after being open an hour. Medium body with a clear and lighter color, low tannins, and subtle nose. Drinks like a mature wine with pleasant flavors that linger on the palate.

October 4, 2023 - Just ok. Other vintages have been better.

  • Pingram00 Likes this wine: 88 points

September 8, 2023 - Needs to breathe and does better without food. Slightly bitter edge. Nice mouth feel. Not particularly fruity.
