August 23, 2016 - This wine is fully mature and possesses raisin notes on the palate with a fully mature nose of berries, plums and some spice. Love Mara.

January 22, 2013 - This wine has retained a surprising amount of grace and poise after 16 years. Medium garnet with little if any browning around the rim, nice bouquet of typical brambleberry zin. On the palate its fragrant, spicy, dark fruits with a certain sweetness but balanced. A very very nice old Zin.

And to think - when this came out its 14.5% alcohol was considered "shocking". Today its low. lol, lol. Just ask Helen T with her 16%+ bombs........ I know I know - its all about the phenolic ripeness, not the sugar/alcohol content (and I have a bridge between Manhattan and Brooklyn that I want to sell you cheap!)

May 30, 1999 - Deep, dark red color. Big port like nose. Heavy extract and a long hot finish. An big, bruising, "over the top" style of Zinfandel.
