    May 9, 2024 - At plop: a dark-berried broad-shouldered Sangiovese.

After a few hours in the decanter: a Chianti emerges.

This is basically a run-of-the-mill product, but it has to have been made with love and care.

Our go-to Chianti any day of the pizza week!

If you're stashed: absolutely no stress as this will improve for many years and keep longer.

January 11, 2024 - Agree with MHBeaune although decanting is unnecessary. This is a gorgeous, relatively inexpensive Sangiovese that is just totally lovely to drink now. Perhaps it will be good for several years, but the fruit is so wonderful it would be hard to put it aside. No significant tannins, but the wine is well structured and well-balanced, especially if you appreciate a wine with plenty of available dark fruit. If you can still find this I totally recommend, and the newer vintages appear to have slightly higher ratings on this website. Yummy.

January 7, 2024 - Garnet. Sangiovese character, cherries, old wood, dust. Medium body, with fairly prominent leathery tannins. Lacks fruit and especially lacking in character beyond those mentioned. Tastes old and past it's prime.

Maybe this was a bad bottle? Cork had a good seal...
