  June 20, 2022 - I have bought this wine before but this vintage has a problem. Of the six bottles I purchased I have opened five so far and each has undergone a secondary fermentation in the bottle giving a petillance to the wine that should not be there and the nose and palate were disagreeable bordering on foul. Clearly faulty and to be avoided.

  June 12, 2022 - Much more favourable impression than first bottle. Good if simple example of the grape. Uncomplicated, fruit more obvious, tannins less. I'm still not convinced I'd buy this ahead of some others in this price range though.

  December 29, 2021 - Not as good as other Mencia tasted in the last year.
  
  Dense vibrant purple. Some notes of cherry, but overshadowed by tannin. Hard work. Will leave the second bottle for a bit to see if it settles down.
  
  EDIT: Was somewhat better second night with Indian food! Tannin less evident.
