March 21, 2023 - Tasted alongside a 2006 Pride Claret Reserve, the Reserve Cabernet was a "wow" wine. A rich unctuous wine with dark fruit, black currants, blackberries and plums, licorice, dark chocolate and a hint of tobacco in the nose. The flavor was equally explosive with those same deep rich fruits and chocolate. Perfectly balanced, this wine showed great complexity and mouthfeel with a very long finish still showing some soft tannins. It was wonderful tonight and in a great spot but I may wait one or two years before I open another. Delicious!

January 11, 2022 - This was very good. Rich and dense but not quite as much fruit and overall flavor as the 2008 pride reserve cab which i had several months ago. I know it was made by Bob Foley and after Sally Johnson took over in 2007, the style slightly changed. Very good, but i prefer the 2009 and 2008s.

September 26, 2021 - Sunday hangout (Chicago, IL): Served double blind, but we got to California cabernet pretty quickly. A profile that shows maturing fruit, and with the slight bricking, I guessed that this was between 2005-2010. A generous amount of fruit, and without the stern structure, we were thinking along the lines of a relatively classical producer, but one that allowed the wines to get a little riper and fruit-forward. Very judicious oak here; it never overwhelms the wine. In fact, this definitely felt a little cooler than the 15.1% it says on the label.
