Community Tasting Notes 5

April 28, 2024 - Very light in color with a floral and fruity nose. My first taste seemed overpowered by the minuscule amount of petite Verdot. Tannic with an astringent mid palate.

Very acidic with very little fruit perhaps more aging needed

April 16, 2023 - This bottle fell to its death while re-arranging the wine fridge. Was quite happy it was Bookwalter that took the hit; I never really liked this wine much.

March 22, 2023 - Again, an unusual example of Washington Cabernet. Leads with cherry, spice, and cedar. This bottle seemed smoother and more enjoyable than the last one we opened.

November 16, 2022 - This wine is kind of weird for a Washington cab - it doesn't have a deep texture, but rather has a lighter heft than most. There's blackberry fruit, but a tight, tart, cedar-spice finish. Price per satisfying gulp ratio is way too high.

March 23, 2022 - An interesting quaff, 97% cab 3% petit verdot, tart black cherry with spice and a hint of vanilla. Sandalwood nose. Doesn’t seem as integrated nor as balanced as many other Washington cabs; pretty expensive bottle, expected more. Maybe it needs 2-4 more years to settle down. . .
