Community Tasting Notes 20

February 22, 2024 - Nice week night wine. Ran it through the Aervana. Typical Douro Taste profile. Not really memorable, but pleasant. Worth the price. Probably could go a few more years in the cellar, but this will never be a head turner. Reasonably solid though

February 5, 2024 - Tasted at restaurant La Rioja, Denver:
Dark red color, not much bouquet ; on the palate rather uniform; not complex but pleasing.. Finishes completely dry with a note of dusty tannins but is not tannic. Robust, but not coarse...
This is the way I remember most Portuguese red wines to be like.
    Went well with the food

November 1, 2023 - Lovely blueberry fruit, figs and spice, this is ready to drink and has softer tannins than the 2018.

March 31, 2023 - Purchased for $17. I may never get to try Barca Velha, but for $17, I'm completely satisfied driving drinking this. This has exactly everything I love in Portuguese wine. Dark. Spice. Blackberry preserves, boysenberry, slate. Floral hints. I really love that spice and slate note. I love that dark fruit note. It all comes together beautifully and seamlessly. It's like a symphony for your palate. Firm tannins. Long finish. This has years of life, but it's so good now.
