  August 7, 2023 - Solid if uninspiring. Rather dense palate with fine well judged tannins. Nose is a little shy but there's some cranberry mixed in giving this some lift. But the palate gets a little dull and dense and lacking energy or intrigue. Rather non-descript super Tuscan. Will hold my second bottle for a few years.

  June 30, 2022 - New SuperTuscans Zoom Tasting. Drank in Grassl 1855.
  Appearance is clear, deep intensity, purplish ruby colour. Legs.
  Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of boysenberries, blackberries, fresh black cherries, slight leather, sour red cherry underlying. Developing.
  On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol, supple high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of fresh new leather, fresh black and red cherries, blackberries, boysenberries plump ripe Cabernet with touch of tobacco. Long finish with smoky tobacco.
  Very good quality. Nice drinking already. Can age also.
  80% Sangiovese, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon.
