April 28, 2024 - Funky yeast upon opening; but that blew off after 10 minutes, thankfully. Replaced by aromas of river rocks (including plenty of moss), lemon juice, white button mushrooms, dried leaves and allspice. A hint of autolytic yeast but nothing like the opening stink. medium + intensity of aromas. The palate is quite different, showing flavors of ripe apricot, sour pineapple, ripe lemon and lemongrass. Medium intensity of flavors. Subtle, though texturally a little chubby.

Medium + body with medium acid. Definitely give this at least an hour of air if you have one. Beyond that, I say drink now at age 4.

September 26, 2023 - Beautiful stuff, a little gassy and stinky, it needs a lot of air to come together, but when it does the fruit is gorgeous, there's purity for days here...

Airy and delicate on the nose: white flowers, nut flours, pineapple, lemon, white peach, a touch of vanilla... Fresh and vibrant on the palate, underripe pineapple, herbs, flowers, a little tannin, subtle pith and fruit skin grip. Formidable acid drive, tart fruits, and complex herbal and salty tones inform the beautiful finish. This will be worth following at least another few years.

Beautiful on day 3, more floral and herbal, but important to note that these elements are not blowsy and perfumed like a Viognier or Gewurztraminer, rather much more delicate and subtle. It still has some gassy stink, but it really blows off now with some time in the glass, Bairrada sponti? Vivacious, tart and mineral through the finish. Love this.

March 8, 2023 - Lemon in the glass, restrained nose, palate is dry and crisp, citrus leads, lemon/lime, gooseberry, kiwi, underripe nectarine, mouth puckering acidity, medium body, long finish. Nice.

    January 3, 2023 - Tasted over 2 hrs
    -translucent light-med gold
-slightly pukey smoky component almost obscures the subtle floral and yellow fruit
-med- acidity, med weight seems a bit washed out up front but then has an interesting delicate yet sappy mineral long finish
-not sure if this is flawed or just the vintage but this is not nearly as captivating as the 2019 was
