November 22, 2023 - I don’t know what makes a wine perfect. But this is really good. Intense and deep. Always evolving. Better than so many wines at this price , so if you’re stuck between a few choices … just pick this one.

November 9, 2022 - 70% Cabernet and 30% Monastrell. I was happy to visit the winery in Jumilla, Spain. The winery is from the Gil Family, highly acclaim wine makers. At the winery, for these vines, everything is done by craftsmen, manually, in a sustainable manner, and everything gets recycled. They treat and process all residue from wine presses, grape sorting, and all water used for cleaning and wine making. All energy for the facilities is solar produced. They even have their own nursery so the new vines are planted only from their existing varieties. They produce fertilizer with compost and american worms treat the compost to produce a few pounds a year of the best natural fertilizer. In my opinion #1 wine from Spain today and at $130 is 1/3 the price of Unico or 1/7 price of Pingus. The little brother Clio is also a great buy.

    The wine.
Deep purple color. Smell of subtle Mediterranean spices, berries and vanilla. Elegant, Powerful and balanced with
oak. Flowers, sweet spices and dark chocolate. Finish broad, juicy and long. This is a wine that will change your perception of wines in general and Jumilla wines in particular.
