January 4, 2021 - A wonderful expression of underbrush, dried mushrooms with a hint of peat moss and red fruit trying to sneak in through the back door. Lovely wine! Paired perfectly with chicken thighs in a porcini mushroom gravy.

    good cork, bought on release
decanted for 30 min then put back into the bottle. enjoyed over 2 days

robe - showing slight age but holding well and in terms of Pinot, might be considered a little deeper than normal. very pretty
nose- off the bat, this showed really pretty with notes ripe cherries, a little forest leaves, says " aged burg" . quite expressive but not jumping from the glass. day two was prettier with very pure red / dark cherries. lovely nose of ripe fruit
palate - this ha medium good length and shows perfectly the vintages balance. dusty tannins, acidity holding up the spine and ripe fruit. not overdone, not overly ripe. crowd pleaser. this also seemed a little timid at the same time. i am still on the fence of starting to wake / will this improve and really show it's feathers. this was my only bottle. if i had more, i would wait another 2 or so but who knows how long the o5s will take to show all of their colors.

March 21, 2020 - Very tasty and in its drinking window. Soft red fruits with some vanilla and minerality.

August 13, 2019 - This one's all about finesse. Aromatically challenged, but very soft texture with sweet cherries, mushrooms, vanilla, and cranberries--all very subtle. Medium finish. I like this a lot, but it's hard to score this very high owing to its bashful nature. Should go 89, but my evil twin (whispering in my ear) is saying 90.

October 27, 2018 - initially, quite tasty after a short time in the decanter. Then, a couple hours later, the flavors had faded. Not unpleasant at that point, but just not very interesting. Smooth.
