March 25, 2024 - Easy going Pinot with a an attractive lightness of being. Chalky fruit, herbs, spice, minerals, nice balance; restrained and civilized, notover the top ripe.

February 28, 2024 - Prior bottle was 8 months ago and my notes were essentially unchanged. Nose continues to show black cherry, some red cherry, earth and spice notes. Between light and medium bodied (remains lighter than the 2018) black cherry as well as some red cherry notes supported by a touch of additional depth through the middle. Tannins, acidity, tart cherry, spices and minerals on the back and through the finish. As expected, the tannins and acidity continue to show prominently, even as the fruit has evolved slightly. The fruit depth and complexity aren't there to support the structural notes which means the backside transitions are and will continue to be slightly disjointed and not as integrated as Chain wines usually are. Has the fruit to last several more years, but I don't see this trend changing.

June 15, 2023 - Red and black cherry, spices and earth notes on the nose. Between light and medium bodied (13% ABV) with black cherry showing good roundness and red cherry showing a touch more brightness and therefore, good contrast. There is a just a bit of additional depth through the middle and then tannins, acidity, tart cherry and light mineral notes as well as some spices. Overall, it's not as complex as the 2017 (at its height) or the 2018 and not as balanced as the 2018 is today. It could come together slightly with a touch more time, but I don't think it has the fruit to support that approach, as this is a wine meant to be drunk young. I'll plan to open my next bottle possibly as early as Fall 2023. It will last longer, but I don't see a benefit in waiting, given the evolutionary profiles of the 2017 and 2018.
