April 21, 2024 - Well, this was disappointing. Considering the producer and the pricetag. Glad I popped one before buying more. A correct wine but utterly boring and bland. 85 points is being generous.

March 14, 2024 - Deep ruby color. On the nose, there are bright aromas of blackberry & black cherry...hints of dried herbs, leather and a slightly volatile, rubber-like note.

Medium to full-bodied, with juicy black fruit flavors framed by fairly rigid tannins that stick out a bit. There's a core of dark fruit trying to emerge, but it feels a touch constricted overall.
Notes of black olive, tobacco and an earthy character. A bit disjointed.

The palate has decent length, but the finish shows some warmth & slight bitterness that detracts from the experience. While not flawed, there's a lack of seamlessness & overall completeness.

Solid, decent, but not firing on all cylinders. The quality of fruit is there, but the components seem a bit muddled and the structure sticks out in an uncomplimentary way right now.

Perhaps more cellar time will allow better integration, but at the moment it lacks the pedigree of Gaja's top bottlings and doesn't quite measure up to the 2019 vintage in Langhe. Decent, but unspectacular for the price point.

February 14, 2024 - It’s gorgeous wine. Correct, balanced. Glad to see the 13.5% — hard to find these days for Nebbiolo in the Piemonte. The price is the only downside here.

January 6, 2024 - From the wine list at Ninety Acres. Decanted at the table. Red fruit, roses, and herbs. Savory palate. Softened by the Barbera blended with the Nebbiolo, says sommelier Alexandra, allowing us to drink so young. Excellent pairing with the mushroom and black truffle Taglione, and not at all bad with the lamb white bolognese or the charcuterie starter.
