June 20, 2016 - Medium-deep garnet in color with ever-so-slight clearing at the edges. Forward, attractive & aromatic nose of complex, rich, ripe fruit aromas of cherries, strawberries & plums with cherry-cola & floral overtones, spices notes of cloves, herbs, earthy, minerals, vanilla & some sous bois in the background. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, rich, ripe fruit flavors of sweet cherries, strawberries & raspberries with spices, cherry-cola, herbs, earthy, minerals, some vanilla & sous bois. Long lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present but has the ripe fruit and structure to continue its development with additional few more years of aging.

August 30, 2015 - wine was properly stored from purchase at Winery upon release until consumed.
Immediate full bouquet, big, beautiful. Balanced and ready. Paired with porchetta. Fresh. Bouquet is a melange of dark red fruits, tempered with Francois freres oak.
    Excellent wine.

July 14, 2014 - Wine was properly stored from purchase at vineyard upon release until consumed.
Initial bouquet is a marvelous fruit basket. After 15 minutes it open with black and red fruit. No individual fruits are discernible, but the scent is lovely. Still has alcohol in the mouth after 9 years. After 1 hour, bouquet is the same - it never develops into layers. The alcohol blows off, finally, and the mouth feel is finally smooth. A fair job at winemaking, but clearly not the best effort of a master winemaker, who would have been able to deal with the alcohol. Also, the specific fruits and layers one associates with a great pinot never show up.

September 29, 2013 - This wine was a big surprise and was simply a fantastic expression of California Pinot. Not just everyday fantastic, but right now as in top 3 bottles of California Pinot I’ve had the pleasure of having fantastic. It has aged beautifully and is displaying complexity on all levels. It has developed the classic aged wine characteristics, while maintaining a subtle backbone and lush fruit on the palette. From the nose till the finish there is not a weak spot in this bottle. It took about 30 minutes to open up, but then has maintained its form and structure even a day later.
