November 26, 2023 - Notes pretty much as before, though I find it a little thinner than I remember.

April 14, 2023 - I agree with the previous note writers, this is an impressive SA old vine chenin that is great QPR here in BC, especially at the sale price. There are concentrated, rich stonefruit flavours, well judged oak and some woolly notes - a well crafted and well balanced wine indeed. Will get more (A-)!

December 6, 2022 - Another South African Chenin Blanc( Steen).
On nose: roasted almonds, lanolin and a ghost of white pepper.
On palate: all above flavour notes amplified, with dried apricot , light vanilla/oak, tart, but rich lemon curd, a wisp of tarragon, and stony minerality all displayed on a full , somewhat rich body, braced by clean acidity ,with a long, steely finish....a complex , young white, deep, bright gold in the glass, after a 1hour decant.
This wine can easily be compared to some of the stellar Chenins ( Steen) made by Chris and Suzanne Alheit....but at HALF the price, here in Vancouver.
Plays well with roast chicken, salmon and sea bass.

September 4, 2022 - Interesting to return to this after nearly a year and find my notes almost identical. The acidity perhaps a touch dialled down tonight but otherwise pretty much the same as my last bottle. Wonderful!

October 31, 2021 - Greeny gold. Lovely leesy nose, with characteristic Chenin notes of lanolin flitting in and out. On the palate - pow! - an electrifying burst of citrussy acidity, leading into quintessence-of-lemon flavours. Full, bold, mouthfilling texture. Incredible persistence on the palate, it tingles and tantalises for minutes. Wow, this is a really exciting wine. Highly recommended. From vines planted in 1962, apparently.
    13.5%, cork and wax seal.
