December 3, 2023 - Still one of the best "young" red Esprit because its already ripe, open, complex, balanced and its doing it while still being full bodied though not dense.

September 12, 2023 - This is very good, even on pop and pour. I cannot think of another Esprit this appealing and so fully expressive this young. Some raised eyebrows have referred to the lighter color of the vintage, and it is true -- but in itself not a cause for concern. The flavors and aromatics are terrific, with plenty of healthy dark fruit flavor (blackcurrants, dark cherry), followed by leather, spice and the dark chocolate -- all characteristics of Esprit. The tannins emerge with air and are firm but elegant. I was not expecting such a beauty from the difficult 2020 vintage. 90-94
