January 30, 2024 - Australia Trade Tasting (Lindley Hall, Royal Horticultural Halls): thick bold flavours, black fruit, smoky, spicy, nutmeg, a touch earthy, palate light, ripe black fruit, juicy tannins, a touch warm, med to long finish

September 21, 2023 - The nose has a deep raspberries and blue berries fruit. Spices are somewhat shy and subtle, even after an hour in the glass. Palate has a nice acidity and fruitiness. Clean but simple. Medium bodied. Tannins ar chalky for now. Finish could be longer and dense. Maybe in a shit down phase now. Good to try this in a few years.

May 4, 2023 - {screwcap, 14.5%} Youthful still. Ripe blueberries, roses and bit of spiciness. Not obviously Clare valley though. Some liquorice richness, although it stops short of too much sugar-sweetness on the medium weight palate. Soft grainy tannins, and generous oak sweetness, yes. This is fine enough, but hasn't the structure for proper development, even if it does manage to carry the alcohol pretty well thanks to the richness of the fruit which avoids too much raisin character. But don't come here looking for tannin! $120 at Meat & Wine Barangaroo, Sydney. The table drank three bottles, all totally consistent.

March 3, 2023 - Friday at the strand (Strand Cellars, Croydon): Dense smelling, ripe black cherry, a little cream, vanilla, sweet spice, a touch of tarry thickness. Juicy, concentrated black carry, slightly drying tannic burr, non-intrusive alcohol warmth helps carry the finish. Reminds me of experiences with the 2001 and 2002, I think more time in the bottle will help.

June 18, 2022 - Not really my thing. Big, bold, soupy, oaky finish. Traces of dead fruit here. Despite the back label description not sure this speaks to place. Not sure if this will settle with time? No soul.
