March 28, 2024 - On the nose, there is fruity cassis, tobacco, pepper, buttermilk. Rich mouthfeel, a gentle smoky note, more cassis, warm pepperiness, tobacco, green bell pepper, grippy tannins, loooong aftertaste. Age has done this very well!

June 11, 2023 - inky purple, meaty syrah but still extremely primary. there is a lot pf stuffing here, the wine has an olive, cured meat deep berry core which is strong flavored. intense , rich, and savory delicious. still very young,to me younger than the 2020 CdR. i wouldnt touch these for at least 2-3 years, and then be sure to decant.

April 27, 2023 - WOW, super nice nose of roasted meat... Cherries, roasted, incense, sandalwood, light but delicious roasted meat, sappy red strawberries.

April 5, 2023 - Smells like your kitchen on a Saturday morning.

Warming blueberry pancake syrup, splattering bacon grease, chicory steeped coffee, baked cinnamon and nutmeg, and fresh air passing through open windows directly through a bouquet of violets.

Charismatic and vibrant, it's also chewy with a rich, sweet concentrated core of raisins, dates, and compote.

Not as complex and distinct, and multilayered as I was expecting, but hard to complain in a weekend state of mind.

March 30, 2023 - Method: Decanted for 2 hours; lightly chilled (fridge for 10 minutes); Cab glass

    Look: deep purple

Nose: light violet, purple/red fruit, maybe faint smokiness of some kind; muted nose

Palate: tart blackberry, tart raspberry, some citrus (blood orange?), minerality; medium+ finish leather, black pepper, dry herbs, minerality; dry; medium to medium+ body; medium smaller grained tannins; medium+ acidity

Overall thoughts: It's not horrible, but it doesn't really do anything for me. The nose is muted, the fruit notes are underripe/tart, and I don't get the savory/earthy notes that I love in Syrah (e.g., meat, bacon, olives, licorice, etc.). I also feel the wine is fairly disjointed. Mediocre wine.
