Community Tasting Notes 5

March 23, 2010 - Sweet, enticing nose, with pears, pineapples, and limes; a bit of acidity, pear and lime flavors, fading in the middle, but lovely zestiness kicks in through the moderate finish. It doesn't improve as it warms or opens up, so, as implied in a comment below, best drunk quickly as a well-chilled pop and pour.

March 26, 2009 - Very enjoyable wine. Gulpable and refreshing in the idiom of Vinjo Verde but much more character. Initial impressio of sweetness, then melons and minerals, still a little tingly in the mouth, and nice long finish. Excellent value. Nice match with saute of chicken sausages, onions and peppers in wine with garlic. Added some Spanish Sherry vinegar which played off the wine nicely.
Coming back to it, still chilled, a couple of hours later it was much heavier, grapefruity and Sauvignon-Blanc like, and what had been fresh and gulpable was now ponderous. Drink now, drink fast.

July 3, 2008 - Fresh, characterful Verdejo. Good summer wine and match for fish.

June 25, 2008 - Apple, a touch of peach and lime, and quite a bit of green grass on the nose. Also some mineral, vegetable and a whiff of cat pee. On the palate, considerable acidity with more apple, grass and noticeable bitterness on the finish. Interesting, but overall a bit under-ripe and flawed.

January 20, 2008 - Sweet grapefruit and smoke with long, lingering finish.
