February 19, 2023 - Memorabel dinner with Cecile Tremblay and Jerome Bretaudeau.

Jerome shattered all prejudices one would ever have on Muscadet. What a great talent at work here in an area that has produced so many wines that led to the less than stellar brand of Muscadet. He could not be farther away from that: Each and every wine was wonderful, mineral and very focused, outspoken and representing its unique terroir.

The Statera actualy, in contrast had a very similar bouquet like a high quality Pinot Noir/Spatburgunder like Markus Molitor or Friedrich Becker. Likewise remarkablee similarity in the after taste earthy depth. Very beautiful.

January 6, 2023 - A private dinner (Restaurant 4850, Amsterdam, NL): Made from 100% Pinot Noir planted on Gabbro and quartz, organic and biodynamic viticulture, fermented with indigenous yeasts, aged for 14 months on older oak, bottled unfined and unfiltered with very little sulfur on 26 October 2021. Effortless ease, bright and fresh and youthful, impressive nose, spicy and fragrant, lifted but perfectly pure, crushed red berries and black cherries, roses and peaches, tight but supple palate, pure and precise, juicy and lively, sandpaper tannins, spicy finish with excellent resonance and length. There is real finesse here. Even better, more open, on the second day, when it reminds me of top Spätburgunder from the Ahr or from the Assmannshäuser Hollenberg, even though the style is slightly cooler.
