Community Tasting Notes 3

March 26, 2020 - Hudelot Noellat wines are rarely charming at youth, yet his older vintages will reassure us that his wines are built for ageing and generally ages nicely. Tasted blind - Fully matured array of dark fruits and gamey nose. Slightly bricking rim with cloudiness. Full bodied with good concentration, Grand Cru substance with a meaty core. 1993/1991? Morey Saint Denis Grand Cru? (89/100)

March 6, 2020 - Served blind. Visually developed and a fully mature wine on the nose and palate without being over the hill in any way. I thought possibly a 85. Terrific wine in my opinion which was the kind of glass you want to sink into an armchair with in front of the open fire. Nice balanced acidity, fruit, secondary/tertiary and a vivid nose of some stink, dirt, roast meat. Probably Burgundy WOTN.

June 17, 2011 - Great nose, full of roses and a bit of dirt. Light and loose knit on the palate, but the fruit that is there is consistent and persistant. Tough to rate, as while beautiful, was so ephemeral as to make giving a high number problematic. A great match with delicate/complex cuisine, the opposite of a wine to take to a tasting. Better to consume sooner rather than later.
