July 16, 2023 - A particular combination in the nose that I haven’t experienced before. Stewed dark berries, baking spices, cocoa, smoke, graphite. Deep ruby, translucent on the pour. Initial pepper notes, then smoke, blackberry on the palate, followed by pepper and cocoa, finishing with graphite. Powdery tannins, rounded dark fruit. Oak. Medium dry. Light to medium acidity. Medium-long finish. Earthy, robust and elegant. Certainly bold. Decanted for an hour and a quarter.
This would be terrific at twice the price. An absolute steal at $12. -

April 28, 2023 - I really like this wine. It's well balanced, and has a nice finish. It has a fair amount of tannins, that would allow it to lay down for a few years, but I didn't want to wait. I would let it breath and/or decant it for at least an hour.
