April 24, 2024 - Brought this to dinner with my wine group at a Turkish Restaurant. This followed a 2015 TOR and then the 2018 Stags' Leap Winery Petite Sirahs. Compared to them, this was much more restrained, and elegant. A different wine to be sure, but just as enjoyable.

February 2, 2024 - I've been eyeing this for the past year. Finally took the plunge. Hard to describe, deep plum/blue bright fruit on the palate, slight oak but silky. A little one dimensional but enjoyable. Bottom line, different from anything I've had in awhile. Would be interesting to try in a few years because the fruit is still very young, tasted more like it was 2 years old.

December 24, 2023 - 2nd of 3 bottles purchased directly from Ridge. Part of a Christmas Eve dinner at Turkish restaurant with my wine group. It was the final wine of the night, and for me, it was the 2nd favorite. Dark color, long finish, full bodied. Ridge always seems to overdeliver on their non-Cabernet wines!

September 26, 2023 - Decanted for 30 minutes prior to tasting.
Incredibly inky dark purple color. And I do mean “purple”; meaty nose. Deeply rich and concentrated, with gobs of dark black fruit. Substantial mouthfeel with lots of savory umami notes of leather, tar, tobacco and roast meat. This wine is big! That said, the tannins are restrained and as a result it is approachable now, but it should improve for another 8-10 years. This is a solid effort with what has been a historically underappreciated varietal.
