Community Tasting Notes 4

April 15, 2023 - Opened up after a few hours in the glass, revealing notes of black raspberry, black cherry, and baking spice. Hints of black olive emerge, and medium acidity keeps it feeling fresh.

January 24, 2023 - Austalia Trade Tasting (Lindley Hall, Royal Horticultural Halls): a touch warm, elegant, finesse, fruit forward, easy palate, could even be served slighly chilled

December 7, 2022 - $17 value Aussie red Rhone wine blend, 2020 Torbreck (Cuvée) Juveniles, Barossa. (44% Grenache, 36% Mataro, 8% Counoise, 6% each Carignan and Shiraz). Mid garnet, viscous (14.5 alc.); red fruit, peppery, old wood, prunes, pomegranate nose; mid acids; mid+ tannins; long semi-chewy hot finisgh. BBQ, burger, pizza wine. 15-15.5 UC Davis scale, 88-89 other scales.

August 14, 2022 - Some jammy Blackberry and Ribena like aromas on the nose, and nice redfruits right on the palate with a medium finish. I liked the spice and fresh finish, which pairs well with heavy dishes.

44% Grenache, 36% Mataro, 8% Counoise, 6% Carignan and 6% Shiraz, which lends itself to some spicy notes and a wee bit more complexity. Pretty masterful winemaking at such a modest price point.

Superb value once again, 2nd if two entry Torbrecks over the weekend; Below USD 20, for a Rhone inspired "bistro wine"!
